Maria Alm The beautiful village of Maria Alm, nestles at the foot of the 3,000m high Hochkonig Mountain and is situated in one of the most spectacular parts of Salzburgerland. The village is home to the stunning 13thC. Pilgrims Church, its 83m high spire the tallest in the province. Winter 2004 saw a world first in Maria Alm; a unique combined 8-seater gondola and 6-seat chairlift, which takes skiers to the summit of Aberg above Maria Alm in under 4 minutes. The Hochkonig Ski region links the villages of Maria Alm, Dienten & Muhlbach providing 150km of Groomed Pistes served by 37 lifts along with plenty of opportunity for Off-Piste adventures. As the Tour operators have not taken over the area, queuing is unheard of! |

Maria Alm is a wonderful place to be in late spring, summer or early Autumn, with lots of trails for walking, fishing, cycling, mountain biking, water activities & tennis. There are lots of stunning walks for all levels of fitness and enthusiasm around the area - Taking a chair lift up and walking down is also an option! There is a lovely open air pool with a flume surrounded by grass and Tennis / Sports Courts. A local favourite for swimming is the lake at Saalfelden, which is surprisingly warm, has a large grassy area for relaxing and wonderful views of the mountains as you swim. There is a diverse selection of great quality Hotels, Restaurants & Bars in the village ensuring that you will never be short of choice for eating and drinking. |
